A junior bed, a children's bed, a baby bed. There are many categories, so how do you choose the right bed for your child? Below we have answered some of the questions and considerations we often experience parents of juniors have:

When should children sleep in a junior bed?

Most children start sleeping in a junior bed around the age of 2-3. This often happens when the child outgrows their crib/baby bed and when they start to be able to climb out of the bars themselves. Junior beds are designed to be slightly larger than a crib, but still smaller and lower than a regular adult bed, which gives the child a sense of security and safety. If you want to give your child and not least yourself extra security during the transition, choose a junior bed with a bed rail that is screwed in, so you are sure that the bed rail fits your child all night and cannot be moved in their sleep.

When do you switch from a junior bed to an adult bed?

The transition from a junior bed to an adult bed, which can also be described as a children's bed with adult dimensions, varies from child to child. Many children switch when they are between 5 and 8 years old. When the child starts to feel that the junior bed is too small, or if they need more space to stretch out, it is a sign that it is time to switch to a bed with larger dimensions. With a Manis-h junior bed, you can convert the bed so that you do not have to replace the entire bed.

How many kg can a junior bed hold?

Most junior beds are designed to hold up to 50-80 kg, making them sturdy enough to be used until the child is big enough for an adult bed. It is always a good idea to check the specifications of the individual bed to make sure it is suitable for your child's weight, but also for daily use.. children love to jump in bed. Also check that the bed is safety tested, so there are no openings that could pose a risk of crushing.

When should a 3 year old go to bed?

A 3-year-old child needs 10-12 hours of sleep, so bedtime depends on when the child needs to get up. A fixed bedtime creates a good routine and helps the child to calm down. It is important for the child's well-being and growth. that the child gets a good night's sleep and feels safe. Therefore, always make sure that the bed is cozy and stable. Check the lighting in the room, a nightlight often creates the necessary security.

When can children sleep in a mid-height bed? Most mid-height beds are recommended for children aged 4 and up, as children at this age have better motor skills and can handle climbing up and down ladders. For younger children, there may be a risk of falls, so it is important to wait until the child is mature enough to use the bed safely. Start with the junior bed and once both you and your child feel safe here, then expand the bed to a mid-height bed, or perhaps a bunk bed with space for two children.

Can children sleep in the same bed?

Yes, children can easily sleep in the same bed, especially if they are used to it and feel comfortable sharing a bed. However, it is important to ensure that there is enough space for both children to sleep comfortably and that they do not wake each other up during the night. A guest bed or a pull-out bed for the crib can be a good solution. Then there is room for siblings, or perhaps for mom or dad.

When do you stop using a bed rail? Many parents choose to remove the bed rail when their child moves from a crib to a junior bed. The bed rail is often used to protect the child in the crib and prevent small arms and legs from getting trapped between the bars. However, the bed rail can easily be moved to the junior bed, so the security from the baby bed moves with it, and this is not all new.
